The first concrete signs of progress on one of the major promises of Trump's campaign, nine months after he took office, have surfaced along the U.S border near Tijuana in Mexico.  Few meters from California, eight sky-high bars of concrete and steel stand as high as 30 feet tall. The erections are prospective models of Trump's promise that would one day be a solid wall covering the full length of the southern border, from California to Texas. The Trump's border wall idea does not sit well with Mexico as the U.S president has vowed to make the Latin American country pay for construction.

Around Africa. The World Health Organization has revoked the appointment of Zimbabwe's Robert Mugabe as a goodwill ambassador following a widespread outcry. "I have listened carefully to all who have expressed their concerns," WHO head Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said in a statement. He had previously praised Zimbabwe for its commitment to public health. But critics pointed out that Zimbabwe's healthcare system had collapsed in recent years. During the first 20 years of his 37-year rule, Mr Mugabe widely expanded health care, but the system has badly been affected by the collapse of the Zimbabwean economy since 2000. Staff often go without pay, medicines are in short supply, and Mr Mugabe, who has outlived the average life expectancy in his country by three decades, travels abroad for medical treatment. Entertainment.  Nigerian rapper, M.I Abaga, is suing American rap legend, Nas, for allegedly failing to deliver a verse his label paid for. The lawsuit was filed in the New York State Supreme Court last week, Nas was accused of  defrauding Chocolate City after they had paid the rapper $50,000 for the verse. According to the lawsuit, in 2013, Nas and Chocolate City had an agreement to contribute a verse to a track from M.I Nas did deliver a verse for M.I. to use but the lawsuit contends that the verse in question did not have any of the subject matter or name drops the two artists had agreed it would have: “M.I, Chocolate City, Nigeria, Queens, New York—NAS’s hometown—, Mandela, Trayvon Martin, and the struggles of Africans and African Americans.” Chocolate City requested that the Queens rapper re-record the verse, and three years later, he is alleged to have failed to live up to his own part of the agreement. Around Africa. The World Health Organization (WHO) has appointed President Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe as a "goodwill ambassador" to help tackle non-communicable diseases. New WHO head Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus praised Zimbabwe for its commitment to public health. But critics say that during Mr Mugabe's 37-year rule Zimbabwe's health services have deteriorated, with staff regularly unpaid and medicines in short supply. Dr Tedros, who is Ethiopian, is the first African to lead the WHO. He was elected with a mandate to tackle perceived politicisation in the organisation. Local News. The police have confirmed the identity of the man who jumped into the Lagos lagoon on Friday. The man was identified as 40-year-old Adekunle Oluseyi from Ondo State, the Lagos Police spokesperson, Olarinde Famous-Cole, said. The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, confirmed the incident, a report said. It is understood that officials of the Lagos State Waterways Authority, LASEMA and the Marine Police were at the scene to search for the man. It was unclear what led to the suicide plunge but NAN gathered that the man pulled off his clothes and left some belongings, including his phone and ATM card, before jumping into the lagoon. Rescue efforts are ongoing.
